Trauma-informed relationship coach, bespoke matchmaker, writer, community builder, and death doula.

Julie Nguyen created a relationship consultancy with over a decade of experience serving principals, creatives, celebrities, and entrepreneurs across New York, San Francisco, and Europe’s high-end dating space. She has interviewed thousands of people about love, and worked with hundreds of clients to support them in the most important search of their life: to find a partner where they can be seen, understood, accepted, and loved for exactly who they are.

Raised in the Midwest as the daughter of Vietnamese refugees, she grew up without a sense of community or belonging, which left her feeling profoundly alienated. It set off a lifelong curiosity to understanding others with nuance and non-judgment, and an obsession studying the frequency of love. That search shapes the foundation of her work.

Today, themes of belonging, self-discovery, and returning to oneself remain central. Her work is devoted to people at a threshold in their romantic lives, those who are ready to accept the love they deserve, to set down the stories that no longer serve them, and begin writing a fuller, more whole story.

She specializes in working with clients who have done a lot of the “right” things: therapy, self-help, reflection, and still find themselves painfully repeating familiar dynamics in different forms. Her work is to slow that pattern down, unbraid what’s happening beneath the surface, and to co-create a safe field for a new authentic story to securely form—one where deep, sustainable intimacy can finally take place.

Alongside her matchmaking and dating offerings, she is trained in trauma care, somatic experiencing, and currently receiving her certification in polyvagal theory to support nervous system expansion. She is also credentialed as a death doula, a practice that has deepened her capacity to presence and space holding. These techniques and unique perspectives allows her to hold a compassionate, clear container for people navigating the most vulnerable parts of their love stories. In her stories, she explores relationships, sex, dating, mental health, psychology, trauma. culture, identity, astrology, holistic wellness, consciousness, and their intersections. As a writer, she aims to create well-resourced content through a clarifying, loving lens. She is the dating expert for dating app Hily, writes a relationship column with Verywell Mind, and publishes her intimate musings on Substack.

When she’s not working, she values a slow life where she can cultivate joy and spiritual alignment. She’s usually off practicing yoga, curating playlists, reading about all things esoterically cosmic, and traveling to intentional communities.
